On the occasion of Easter, a period that highlights the value of giving and solidarity, Novibet carried out the volunteer initiative “Meals that Make a Difference,” as part of its Giant Heart social responsibility program. The initiative took place on Friday, April 3, 2026, at the company’s headquarters, where more than 70 employees actively participated in the preparation, cooking, packaging, and distribution of 650 meals for people in need.
The initiative was implemented in collaboration with chef Dimitris Skarmoutsos, the Municipality of Athens, and the Municipality of Piraeus, providing meaningful support to social care structures. The event was attended by the Mayor of Athens, Haris Doukas, and the Deputy Mayor of Health and Welfare of Piraeus, Giorgos Vitsas, highlighting the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors in supporting vulnerable social groups.
The Mayor of Athens, Haris Doukas, stated: “At our Municipality’s Homeless Support Center, we provide daily shelter, hygiene facilities, food, safety, and accommodation to around 200 individuals experiencing homelessness. A few days before Easter, we offered them a complete meal, sending a meaningful message of solidarity. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the organization and implementation of this initiative. When we stand by each other, we can make a difference.”
The Deputy Mayor of Health and Welfare of Piraeus, Giorgos Vitsas, noted: “Mayor Moralis, the municipal authority, and all the citizens of Piraeus have consistently shown their support for homeless and vulnerable individuals. We were therefore very pleased to receive the offer of 200 full meals for people in need from Novibet. I would like to personally thank Mr. Skarmoutsos and Novibet, and we hope to collaborate again on future initiatives.”
The meals were delivered to the Municipality of Athens’ Homeless Support Center and the Open Day Center for the Homeless of the Municipality of Piraeus, strengthening social care and solidarity, while their transportation was supported by the catering company Dipnosofistirion.
